Regular Season Round 18: Villarrobledo - Cartagena 93-85

There was an upset when higher ranked Cartagena (10-6) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Villarrobledo (3-13) 93-85 on Saturday. Villarrobledo shot 63.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. Villarrobledo looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American swingman Willy Nunez Jr (198, college: Rider) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Pol Bassas (184-95) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Daniel Astilleros (196-95) with 20 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Samuel Rodriguez (202-97) scored 20 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Five Villarrobledo and four Cartagena players scored in double figures. Villarrobledo maintains fourteenth position in Silver with 3-13 record. Newly promoted Cartagena dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. Villarrobledo will meet higher ranked Valencia 2 (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cartagena will play against Sant Antoni (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
