Regular Season Round 19: Cesena - Ancona 48-63

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Ancona (12-6) defeated on the road 9th ranked Cesena (8-10) 63-48 on Saturday. They outrebounded Cesena 47-35 including 37 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tommaso Minoli (187-94, agency: SLN) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Andrea Quarisa (204-92, agency: SLN) accounted for 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) came up with 5 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Antonio Brighi (190-96) added 9 points respectively for Cesena in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ancona maintains fourth place in B with 12-6 record. Loser Cesena dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Ancona will meet Giulianova (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cesena will play against the league's leader Roseto (#1) and hope to secure a win.
