Regular Season Round 16: OBA - Kataja 81-54

U19 League top team - OBA (9-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Kataja (3-8) in Espoo 81-54. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-54. OBA dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kataja's 30. OBA forced 39 Kataja turnovers. Strangely Kataja outrebounded OBA 46-31 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by guard Morris Ugusuk (189-4) who scored that evening 25 points and 7 rebounds and center Gezim Bajrami (207-3) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four OBA players scored in double figures. OBA's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by forward Oskari Pehkonen (189-3) did not help to save the game for Kataja. Point guard Eemil Tuononen (182-3) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. OBA have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-2 record. Loser Kataja keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. OBA will meet Kouvot (#4) in the next round. Kataja will play against Honka (#3) and hope to secure a win.
