Regular Season Round 16: PuHu - Honka 97-93

The most important game in the last round took place in Vantaa between third ranked Honka (7-3) and sixth ranked PuHu (7-6) on Saturday night. Honka was defeated by PuHu in a tough game on the road 93-97. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Honka. Honka trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 27-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 93-97 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Thomas Ronnholm (197-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Joel Junttila (255-2) contributed with 30 points and 4 steals for the winners. Guard Riku Korhonen (192-4) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and forward Aamos Laavainen (204-3) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Honka. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. PuHu maintains sixth position with 7-6 record. Honka at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. PuHu are looking forward to face Kataja (#8) in Joensuu in the next round. Honka will play on the road against Kataja (#8) in Joensuu and is hoping to win this game.
