Regular Season Round 17: Kristika Turku - ToPo Juniorit 83-90

1st Division top team - ToPo Juniorit (13-3) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Kristika Turku (8-6) in Turun 90-83. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kristika Turku won third quarter 30-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ToPo Juniorit dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Kristika Turku's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kristika Turku's players. Forward Eldar Skamo (198-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Tommy Hamilton IV (210-94, college: Texas Tech) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Ville Hanninen (193-95) answered with 25 points and 7 assists and power forward Mikael Aalto (205-94) added 21 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Kristika Turku. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ToPo Juniorit maintains first place with 13-3 record. Kristika Turku at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. ToPo Juniorit's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki HNMKY.
