Regular Season Round 18: Arxil - Cortegada 61-63

The most exciting game of round 18 in the LF2 took place in Pontevedra. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-best Arxil (14-4) to tenth ranked Cortegada (7-10) 63-61 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Arxil. Guard Sara Gomez (172-86) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Slovakian forward Tereza Sedlakova (180-97, college: Florida Tech, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Guyanese Ruth Adams (-96) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Nerea Liste (-3) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cortegada moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Coruna. Arxil at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Almeria. Cortegada is looking forward to face Rosalia (#11) in Santiago de Compostela in the next round. Arxil will play on the road against Barakaldo (#5) in Vizcaya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
