Everything went according to plan when second ranked Granada (16-4) beat on the road 13th ranked Almansa (9-12) 82-75 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American-Liberian guard Thomas Bropleh (196-1991, college: Boise St., agency: Duran International) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international forward Pere Tomas (202-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Granada's coach Pablo Pin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-1989) who recorded 17 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Carles Bivia (189-1985) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Granada have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Estudiantes. Almansa lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with 12 games lost. Granada will meet bottom-ranked Huesca (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Almansa will play against Oviedo (#10) and hope to secure a win.
