The most exciting game of round 9 in the Superliga took place in Tirana. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Tirana B (4-5) to third ranked Partizani (6-2) 94-93 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tirana B. Partizani dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Tirana B's 44. They outrebounded Tirana B 46-35 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Partizani looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for the former international point guard Ornela Lalaj (173-94) who saved her team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international guard Aida Palko (176-84) contributed with 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Serbian Ana-Marija Stojicic (179-99) answered with 31 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Janae Barnes (183, college: Johnson CCC) added 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Tirana B. Five Partizani and four Tirana B players scored in double figures. Partizani moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Tirana B keeps the fifth position with five games lost.
