Regular Season Round 20: Pinta Castell - Salou 71-91

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Pinta Castell (6-9) was outleveled by fourth ranked Salou (11-4) in Es Castell 91-71 on Sunday. Salou forced 19 Pinta Castell turnovers. The winners were led by naturalized Equatorial Guinean power forward Oscar Ngomo (201-90) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Artur Alaminos (202-91) supported him with 7 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Salou players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by center Jan Orfila (207-86) did not help to save the game for Pinta Castell. Forward Gabriel Torres (198-89) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Salou have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group C-1, which they share with Olivar. Loser Pinta Castell dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Salou will meet at home Roser (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Pinta Castell will play against Martinenc in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
