Not a big story in a game in San Sebastian where 15th ranked Juaristi ISB (7-12) was defeated by ninth ranked Acunsa GBC (11-9) 80-70 on Sunday. Acunsa GBC forced 19 Juaristi ISB turnovers. The best player for the winners was Icelandic point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-1991, college: Newberry, agency: Duran International) who scored 18 points and 5 assists. American forward Benjamin Simons (203-1991, college: Drake) chipped in 18 points. Four Acunsa GBC players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was French point guard Sidy Cissoko (198-2004) who recorded 18 points and forward Inigo Royo (200-2000) added 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Acunsa GBC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Castello. Newly promoted Juaristi ISB keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Acunsa GBC will meet at home higher ranked Coruna (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Juaristi ISB will play against the league's second-placed Estudiantes (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
