Regular Season Round 17: H.Beer Sheva - H.Jerusalem 58-74
Date: February 13, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (6-9) lost at home to second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (10-5) 74-58 on Sunday. Hapoel Jerusalem dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Beer Sheva's 18. American guard Jalen Adams (191-1995, college: UConn) nailed 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Nigerian center John Egbunu (211-1994, college: Florida) accounted for 9 points and 7 rebounds. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach Yotam Halperin used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Hungarian swingman Amit Suss (199-1999) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and American center Derek Pardon (203-1996, college: Northwestern) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Beer Sheva in the defeat. Hapoel Jerusalem keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliya. Loser Hapoel Beer Sheva keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet at home Galil Elion (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hapoel Beer Sheva will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
