Ninth-ranked Hertzeliya (4-12) made lots of trouble for first ranked M.Haifa (14-4) on Monday. M.Haifa managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. M.Haifa forced 21 Hertzeliya turnovers. Strangely Hertzeliya outrebounded M.Haifa 41-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) who scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: SDSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Kristen Simon (188-95, college: USC) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and guard Brittany Brown (173-95, college: FSU) added 4 points, 11 rebounds and 17 assists respectively for the guests. M.Haifa maintains first position with 14-4 record. Hertzeliya at the other side keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. M.Haifa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hertzeliya will play at home against Ramat G. (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
