EBLK top team - Polkowice (14-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Polonia W-wa (8-7) in Warszawa 87-53. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Polonia W-wa. Polkowice dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Polonia W-wa's 24. Polkowice forced 20 Polonia W-wa turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Polkowice players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Polonia W-wa's players. It was a quality performance for Zimbabwean-American center Stephanie Mavunga (191-1995, college: Ohio St., agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Greek forward Artemis Spanou (186-1993, college: RMU) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. American guard Loryn Goodwin (171-1994, college: OK State) came up with 9 points and the former international Klaudia Sosnowska (186-1990) added 9 points respectively for Polonia W-wa in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Polkowice have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Newly promoted Polonia W-wa keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Polkowice will play against Poznan (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Polonia W-wa will play against the league's second-placed Lublin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
