Very expected game when 13th ranked H.Izrael (5-14) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked M.Haifa (11-9) 88-75 on Tuesday. M.Haifa made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. M.Haifa outrebounded H.Izrael 36-21 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Raphiael Putney (207-1990, college: UMass) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-1990, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 23 points during the contest. At the losing side American guard Donte Clark (194-1994, college: Texas Southern) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and Rom Cornelius (197-1993) scored 19 points. H.Izrael's coach Assaf Rothenstein tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. M.Haifa moved-up to sixth place, which they share with H.Afula. H.Izrael lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. M.Haifa will meet higher ranked E.Kiryat Ata (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. H.Izrael will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel H/M (#2) and hope to secure a win.
