Everything went according to plan in Tallinn where second ranked Lithuanian Kibirkstis (16-2) won against 8th ranked Estonian Tallina U. (7-11) 64-55 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 30-19 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Kibirkstis outrebounded Tallina U. 43-24 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Gabriele Sulske (177-1990) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and center Livija Sakeviciute (188-1999) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kibirkstis players scored in double figures. Jane Svilberg (181-1995) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Laina Mesila-Kaarmann (186-1987) scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. Kibirkstis have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending Lithuanian champion maintains second place with 16-2 record having four points less than leader RSU 2. Loser Tallina U. keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with TalTech. Kibirkstis will meet RSU (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tallina U. will play against Neptunas and hope to secure a win.
