Regular Season Round 18: Scafati - San Severo 107-57
Date: February 16, 2022
Very predictable result when first ranked Scafati (15-4) rolled over at home 6th ranked San Severo (10-9) 107-57 on Wednesday. Scafati made 33-of-41 free shots (80.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 San Severo turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Scafati looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by San Severo's players. Point guard Riccardo Rossato (190-1996, agency: Players Group) notched 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-1989, college: Butler) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Scafati players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by naturalized American Dalton Pepper (197-1990, college: Temple, agency: SLN) did not help to save the game for San Severo. Matteo Piccoli (195-1995, agency: SLN) added 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Scafati maintains first position in A2 with 15-4 record. Loser San Severo dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Scafati will meet at home Chieti (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Severo will play against Latina and hope to secure a win.
