Regular Season Round 19: Benicarlo - Cartagena 75-67

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Cartagena (10-8) lost to second ranked Benicarlo (14-4) in Castellon 67-75 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-1991, college: NW Missouri St., agency: Duran International) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 assists. Dominican guard Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) accounted for 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Benicarlo's coach Adria Alonso used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Bakary Camara (201-1998, college: Bridgeport) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Martyce Kimbrough (185-1996, college: Findlay, OH) added 21 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) respectively for Cartagena in the defeat. Benicarlo keeps a position of Silver leader. Newly promoted Cartagena keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Benicarlo will meet Menorca (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cartagena will play against the league's second-placed Albacete and hope to secure a win.
