Regular Season Round 24: Rybnik - Wisla Krakow 74-51
Date: February 16, 2022
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Wisla Krakow (12-11) was smashed on the road by tenth ranked Rybnik (7-17) 74-51 on Wednesday. The winners were led by point guard Kacper Wydra (180-2000) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Marcin Kosiorowski (172-2005) supported him with 19 points. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by forward Mateusz Nowacki (198-1999) did not help to save the game for Wisla Krakow. Forward Victor Raczka (194-2002) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Rybnik went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with AZS PCz. Loser Wisla Krakow dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Koscian and Hutnik W-wa. Rybnik will meet higher ranked Przemysl (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wisla Krakow's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Krakow to the arena UR Krakow.
