There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Estonian TalTech (7-11) defeated at home second-ranked Lithuanian Kibirkstis (16-2) 68-61 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 21-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. TalTech forced 24 Kibirkstis turnovers. Annika Koster (182-1992) stepped up and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals for the winners and point guard Marie Sepp (168-2002) chipped in 13 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Gabriele Sulske (177-1990) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Justina Miknaite (180-2001) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. TalTech moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Tallina U. Defending Lithuanian champion Kibirkstis keep the second position with two games lost. TalTech will meet at home LCC Tarp. (#12) in the next round. Kibirkstis will play against RSU (#7) in Riga and hope to secure a win.
