Very expected game when 9th ranked Poznan (3-13) was defeated at home by third ranked Gorzow Wlkp. (12-6) 92-74 on Wednesday. Gorzow Wlkp. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Poznan's 34. They outrebounded Poznan 42-26 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gorzow Wlkp. looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Poznan's players. Bulgarian forward Borislava Hristova (182-1996, college: WSU) fired 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-Bosnian forward Courtney Hurt (185-1990, college: VCU) chipped in 26 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Gorzow Wlkp.'s coach Dariusz Maciejewski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-1990) produced 29 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Michaela Houser (170-1991, college: Purdue) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Gorzow Wlkp.. They maintain third place with 12-6 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Polkowice. Poznan at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Gorzow Wlkp. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Poznan will play against the league's leader Polkowice (#1) and hope to secure a win.
