Regular Season Round 18: Wolomin - GTK 2 85-60

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Wolomin (6-13) smashed at home 11th ranked GTK 2 (5-13) 85-60 on Wednesday. Wolomin dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to GTK 2's 28. They outrebounded GTK 2 55-25 including a 36-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wolomin looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by GTK 2's players. Forward Natalia Panufnik (178-1996, college: USC Upstate) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Anna Banaszek (173-2000) chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Justyna Rudzka (171-2000) with 24 points and Agata Gilmajster (171-2004) scored 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wolomin moved-up to eleventh place in Group A. GTK 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Wolomin will meet league's second-placed AZS UG in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. GTK 2 will play against Plock (#8) and hope to secure a win.
