Very important is a home loss of Kouvot against Vilpas on Thursday night. Host Kouvot was defeated by Vilpas in Kouvola 95-84. Kouvot was trailing by 12 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-12 charge of Vilpas, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Brian Fobbs (196-1998, college: Towson) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Perttu Blomgren (195-2001) accounted for 10 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. American-Syrian guard Amir Hinton (196-1997, college: Shaw) came up with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) added 24 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Kouvot in the defeat. Five Vilpas and four Kouvot players scored in double figures. Vilpas will meet Seagulls in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kouvot will play against Pyrinto in Tampere and hope to secure a win.
