Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Costa Masnaga (7-10) won against at home 13th ranked Moncalieri (4-13) 72-57 on Thursday. Costa Masnaga forced 19 Moncalieri turnovers. The winners were led by American center Mikayla Vaughn (192-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: LBM Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and the former international swingman Laura Spreafico (183-1991, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 26 points. Even 16 points by Croatian power forward Lea Miletic (181-1995) did not help to save the game for Moncalieri. Guard Sara Toffolo (180-2000) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Moncalieri's coach Paolo Terzolo rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Costa Masnaga have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with San Giovanni. Moncalieri lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Faenza. Costa Masnaga will meet at home higher ranked Lucca (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Moncalieri will play against San Giovanni (#8) in Sesto San Giovanni and hope to secure a win.
