Regular Season Round 20: IDK Eustotren - Zaragoza 65-35

There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Zaragoza (12-8) was smashed by sixth ranked IDK Eustotren (10-7) in San Sebastian 65-35 on Thursday. IDK Eustotren held Zaragoza to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Zaragoza 43-31 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Mali center Mariam Coulibaly (192-1997) who scored that evening 8 points and 14 rebounds and Croatian forward Andrijana Cvitkovic (190-1994, college: Dayton) supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Sierra Calhoun (183-1996, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Zaragoza. Her fellow American import forward Merritt Hempe (190-1994, college: Georgia) added 8 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. IDK Eustotren have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 10-7 record. Zaragoza at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. IDK Eustotren will meet Ferrol (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zaragoza will play against the league's leader Avenida (#1) and hope to secure a win.
