There was a minor upset in Loimaa where Kataja was defeated by Bisons 83-75 on Friday. Kataja trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 22-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-83 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Kataja 38-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Cortez Edwards (188-1997, college: Southern Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Zach Thomas (203-1996, college: Bucknell) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Bisons players scored in double figures. Forward Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (198-1991, college: Temple) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and Christopher McKnight (201-1987, college: Akron) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Bisons will meet at home Lahti in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kataja will play against Kobrat in Lapua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
