Regular Season Round 18: HBA-Marsky - Huima 81-65

There was a minor upset in Helsinki where one of their biggest challengers Huima (10-8) was defeated by seventh ranked HBA-Marsky (9-8) 81-65 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by HBA-Marsky. Huima managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Huima 51-29 including a 24-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when HBA-Marsky made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Miro Little (196-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Tuukka Harsila (192-2004) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. HBA-Marsky's coach Juha Sten used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Karo Puittinen (195-1999) who recorded 24 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and power forward Joni Pohjonen (203-1998) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively. HBA-Marsky moved-up to sixth place in 1st Division. Loser Huima dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. HBA-Marsky will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Huima will play against Tapiolan Honka (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
