No shocking result in a game when second ranked Lublin (15-3) smashed at home 7th ranked Polonia W-wa (8-9) 84-65 on Friday. Lublin made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Lublin outrebounded Polonia W-wa 43-28 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian forward Martina Fassina (183-1999) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Serbian point guard Aleksandra Stanacev (167-1994) who added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. American guard Loryn Goodwin (171-1994, college: OK State) responded with 16 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and center Martyna Leszczynska (190-2000) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Polonia W-wa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lublin have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-3 record having just one point less than leader Polkowice. Polonia W-wa lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Lublin will meet at home Sosnowiec (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Polonia W-wa will play against Katarzynki in Torun and hope to secure a win.
