Regular Season Round 21: Majadahonda - Rivas 82-76

There was an upset when 3rd placed Rivas (13-8) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Majadahonda (7-13) 82-76 on Saturday. Majadahonda forced 20 Rivas turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Diego Gonzalez (196-1996) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Raul Perez (194-1992) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Angel Gomez (197-1987) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and American center Julien Sargent (211-1991, college: Mobile, AL) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Majadahonda maintains fourteenth place with 7-13 record. Loser Rivas dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with LBC Cocinas. Majadahonda will meet at home higher ranked Socuellamos (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rivas will have a break next round.
