Regular Season Round 21: La Antigua - Oviedo 2 86-61

There was no surprise in Salamanca where 15th ranked Oviedo 2 (4-18) was outplayed by first ranked La Antigua (22-1) 86-61 on Saturday. La Antigua dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo 2's 36. They outrebounded Oviedo 2 46-35 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. La Antigua looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Oviedo 2's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Kupaa Harrison (196-1997, college: Hawaii-Hilo) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Cesar Yanez (205-1994) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four La Antigua players scored in double figures. La Antigua's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Fernando Suarez (-2003) who recorded 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Alejandro Rodriguez (188-1998) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively. La Antigua have an impressive series of twenty two victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-1 record. Oviedo 2 lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. La Antigua will meet Claret (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Oviedo 2 will play against Chantada and hope to secure a win.
