Regular Season Round 19: Almeria - Adareva 78-60

The biggest surprise took place in Almeria where host Almeria (15-4) beat league's leader Adareva (14-3) 78-60 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Adareva. It was a key game for the top position in Group A. Serbian forward Tijana Djukic (193-1993, college: Utah St.) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Lucia Mendez (182-1988) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Almeria's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Julie Dacosta (-1999) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and Chilean point guard Sendy Basaez (173-1996) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Almeria have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of Group A leader, which they share with Arxil. Adareva at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Segle XXI. Adareva will play next round against Melilla trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Almeria will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked De La Torre on the road.
