The most exciting game of round 2 in the Korisliiga took place in Helsinki. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of Seagulls to Vilpas 85-84 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 27-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Vilpas made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. American power forward Bryan Griffin (203-1998, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Perttu Blomgren (195-2001) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists during the contest. American Joe Lawson (201-1992, college: Indianapolis, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and international Shawn Huff (198-1984, college: Valpo) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Seagulls' coach Jussi Laakso rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vilpas is looking forward to face Kauhajoki at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Seagulls will play against Pyrinto in Tampere and is hoping to win this game.
