Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Plasencia (4-18) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Estepona (13-7) 85-79 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Estepona outrebounded Plasencia 42-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Senegalese swingman Yacine Diop (178-1995, college: Louisville) chipped in 22 points. Estepona's coach Beatriz Pacheco used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian forward Ijeoma Uchendu (185-1992, college: Butler) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-1999) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Estepona have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 13-7 record. Plasencia lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Estepona will meet league's second-placed Granada on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plasencia will play against Real Canoe (#12) and hope to secure a win.
