Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Guimar (8-9) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Tenerife Naut. (11-11) 75-70 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Slovenian Mark Ivankovic (194-2003) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Senegalese center Elhadji Dieng (211-1996, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Dieng is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sean Harris (201-1989, college: Utah St.) who recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds and Jonathan Jorge (183-2001) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tenerife Naut. maintains sixth place with 11-11 record which they share with defeated Guimar. Newly promoted Guimar dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Martinenc. Tenerife Naut. will meet at home Guadalajara (#8) in the next round. Guimar will play against Alcala and hope to secure a win.
