There was no surprise in Corugate where 8th ranked Carugate (7-8) was crushed by top-ranked Crema (17-0) 84-53 on Saturday. Crema dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Carugate's 32. Crema forced 25 Carugate turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Power forward Alice Nori (183-1993) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Norma Rizzi (171-1993) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Crema players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (191-1998, college: Duquesne) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard Francesca Diotti (175-1997) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Carugate's coach Luigi Cesari already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Crema maintains first position in A2 with 17-0 record. Loser Carugate keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Crema will meet at home league's second-placed Udine in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Carugate will play against Torino (#14) and hope to secure a win.
