Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Latina (6-13) lost on the road to fifth ranked Ferrara (11-8) 114-108 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ferrara shot 60.9 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. Ferrara looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Iraqi guard Demario Mayfield (196-1991, college: Angelo St.) notched 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American power forward AJ Pacher (208-1992, college: Wright St., agency: Players Group) supported him with 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Four Ferrara players scored in double figures. Ferrara's coach Spiro Leka allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by Maltese-American Darryl Jackson (189-1985, college: WPU) did not help to save the game for Latina. American guard Terry Henderson Jr (196-1994, college: NC State) added 19 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Ferrara maintains fifth position in A2 with 11-8 record. Loser Latina keeps the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Ferrara will meet Forli (#9) on the road in the next round. Latina will play against San Severo and hope to secure a win.
