Regular Season Round 18: Hammarby - SBBK 92-63

There was no surprise when 9th ranked SBBK (3-11) was outleveled by seventh ranked Hammarby (6-11) in Stockholm 92-63 on Sunday. Hammarby dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to SBBK's 38. They outrebounded SBBK 52-32 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hammarby looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by SBBK's players. Center Noah Kelly (199-1997) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American point guard Michael Saladin (183-1998, college: OLLU) supported him with 26 points and 6 assists. Four Hammarby players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by forward Simon Skott (196-2002) did not help to save the game for SBBK. Teodor Manfredsson added 12 points and 4 steals. SBBK's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Hammarby maintains seventh position with 6-11 record. Newly promoted SBBK keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Hammarby will meet Kalmar 2 (#10) on the road in the next round. SBBK will play against Hogsbo 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
