Date: February 20, 2022
Winner League top team - Hapoel Jerusalem (11-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Galil Elion (8-8) 81-65. Belgian-Nigerian guard Retin Obasohan (189-1993, college: Alabama) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and Nigerian Suleiman Braimoh (203-1989, college: Rice) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by international Nimrod Levi (208-1995) did not help to save the game for Galil Elion. Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) added 18 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Jerusalem maintains first position with 11-5 record. Galil Elion lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. They share the position with I.Nes-Ziona. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Bnei Hasharon (#3) in Hod Hasharon in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Galil Elion will play at home against Hapoel Eilat (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
