There was no surprise when 9th ranked Patti (6-8) was defeated at home by first ranked Valdarno (14-3) 77-70 on Sunday. Point guard Sofia Vespignani (168-1996) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Isabella Olajide (183-2000) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Valdarno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Marta Verona (178-1994) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Liliana Miccio (179-1989) scored 25 points. Valdarno maintains first position in A2 with 14-3 record. Loser Patti dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Valdarno will meet at home Cagliari (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Patti will play against Umbertide and hope to secure a win.
