Regular Season Round 24: Hapoel H/M - E.Kiryat Ata 89-86

The most exciting game of round 24 in the National League took place in Hevel Modi'in. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked E.Kiryat Ata (14-8) to second ranked Hapoel H/M (17-6) 89-86 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of E.Kiryat Ata. Hapoel H/M dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to E.Kiryat Ata's 44. Hapoel H/M forced 19 E.Kiryat Ata turnovers. Strangely E.Kiryat Ata outrebounded Hapoel H/M 41-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jonatan Mor (204-1995) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and American Jimmy Hall (203-1994, college: Kent St., agency: Slash Sports) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Amin Stevens (203-1990, college: FAMU, agency: BIG) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kenney Funderburk (193-1992, college: Columbus St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel H/M maintains second position with 17-6 record behind leader I.Nahariya. E.Kiryat Ata at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Hapoel H/M are looking forward to face bottom-ranked M.Hod Hasharon (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. E.Kiryat Ata will play against H.Ramat Gan (#13) in Givataim and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
