We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (12-3) rolled over on the road one of their biggest challengers Latvian Liepaja/LSSS (13-6) 98-73 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Liepaja/LSSS's 30. Neptunas forced 19 Liepaja/LSSS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Lithuanian point guard Agne Cerneckyte (173-1996) notched 16 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Lithuanian Ligita Tamutyte (177-1999) supported her with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Neptunas players scored in double figures. Even 7 points and 8 rebounds by Latvian guard Raivita Korenika (182-2001) did not help to save the game for Liepaja/LSSS. Latvian guard Madara Smite (152-2006) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neptunas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 12-3 record. Loser Liepaja/LSSS keeps the third place with six games lost. Neptunas will meet Aistes-LSMU (#5) in the next round. Liepaja/LSSS will have a break next round.
