Second Stage Round 8: Orlovi - Badel 66-56

No shocking result in a game in Banja Luka where fourth ranked Bosnian Orlovi (7-6) defeated bottom-ranked North Macedonian Badel (1-13) 66-56 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Orlovi. Badel managed to win fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Badel to just 4 points in second quarter. Orlovi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Vladinka Erak (192-1984) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and Serbian-Bosnian guard Milica Zeljkovic (176-1998) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Orlovi's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Aleksandra Stojanovska (178-1994, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 18 points and 4 steals and American center Kaitlyn Mathieu (188-1992, college: William & Mary) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Orlovi have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Bosnian champion maintains fourth position with 7-6 record. Badel lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Orlovi will meet at home higher ranked Montana (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Badel will play against Triglav (#7) in Kranj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
