Second Stage Round 8: Triglav - Badel 77-50

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked North Macedonian Badel's (1-13) road loss to seventh ranked Slovenian Triglav (3-10) 50-77 on Friday. The game without a history. Triglav led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Badel to just 6 points in fourth quarter and to 13 points in second half. Triglav dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Badel's 28. Triglav forced 25 Badel turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Badel's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Rebeka Abramovic (172-1993) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 9 steals and center Lara Bubnic (190-1999) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Triglav players scored in double figures. Triglav's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Aleksandra Stojanovska (178-1994, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American center Kaitlyn Mathieu (188-1992, college: William & Mary) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Triglav maintains seventh position with 3-10 record. Badel lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Triglav will again meet at home bottom-ranked Badel (#8) in the next round. Badel will have a break next round.
