Regular Season Round 26: Kolobrzeg - Lublin 2 81-65

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Lublin 2 (12-12) lost to third ranked Kotwica (19-5) in Kolobrzeg 65-81 on Saturday. Kotwica outrebounded Lublin 2 45-27 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Remon Nelson (175-1990, college: USC Aiken) notched 21 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Ukrainian Witalij Kowalenko (204-1984) supported him with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by Adam Mysliwiec (200-1990) did not help to save the game for Lublin 2. Bartosz Ciechocinski (203-1991) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kotwica have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lancut. Newly promoted Lublin 2 keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with WKK Wroclaw and Slask 2. Kotwica will meet AZS PO (#4) in the next round. Lublin 2 will play against Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
