The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked RSU's (8-9) road victory over 10th ranked Daugavpils Universitate (3-15) 92-70 on Saturday. RSU dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Daugavpils Universitate's 34 and had 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Daugavpils Universitate only scored six points from the stripe. RSU forced 21 Daugavpils Universitate turnovers and outrebounded them 43-25 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Marta Leimane (178-2003) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points. Forward Luize Septe (180-1999, college: S.Florida) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four RSU players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Kristina Egle (177-1986) responded with 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and Latvian forward Lauma Poikane (178-2003) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Daugavpils Universitate's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. RSU moved-up to seventh place. Daugavpils Universitate lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost.
