Second Stage Round 8: Celje - Orlovi 89-61

Rather predictable result when second ranked Slovenian Celje (12-2) outscored at home 4th ranked Bosnian Orlovi (7-6) 89-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Celje led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 30 Orlovi turnovers and had a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Celje looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Blaza Ceh (181-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American guard Katrina Pardee (175-1997, college: WVU) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Celje's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian swingman Tamara Rajic (182-1993) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Natasa Sobot (170-1995) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending Slovenian champion maintains second position with 12-2 record having just one point less than leader Buducnost. Defending Bosnian champion Orlovi keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Celje will meet 021 (#5) in the next round. Orlovi will play against Montana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
