No shocking result in a game when third ranked Arka Gdynia (13-5) crushed on the road 9th ranked Poznan (3-16) 86-58. They outrebounded Poznan 47-24 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Arka Gdynia players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Poznan's players. Croatian forward Ana-Marija Begic (191-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Megan Gustafson (190-1996, college: Iowa) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Arka Gdynia's coach Gundars Vetra felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Michaela Houser (170-1991, college: Purdue) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-1990) scored 17 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Arka Gdynia. Defending champion maintains third place with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Polkowice. Poznan lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Arka Gdynia will play against Wroclaw (#5) on the road in the next round. Poznan will play against Polonia W-wa (#7) in Warszawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
