Regular Season Round 19: Valdarno - Cagliari 78-52

Serie A2 top team - Valdarno (15-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Cagliari (7-10) 78-52. They outrebounded Cagliari 38-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a quality performance for Slovenian Tina Cvijanovic (180-1998) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Antonia Peresson (175-1995, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Valdarno players scored in double figures. Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-1988) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Erika Striulli (170-1990) added 8 points respectively for Cagliari in the defeat. Cagliari's coach Federico Xaxa gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Valdarno maintains first place in A2 with 15-3 record. Loser Cagliari dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Valdarno will meet Savona (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cagliari will play against Civitanova in Civitanova Marche and hope to secure a win.
