Very expected game in Barcelona where 16th ranked Maresme (1-20) was rolled over by third ranked Jairis (17-5) 82-38 on Sunday. Jairis dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maresme's 24. Jairis forced 21 Maresme turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Samoan forward Geralynn Leaupepe (180-1996) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 8 rebounds and forward Beatriz Royo (176-1991, agency: Promo Sport ID) who added 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Adrijana Knezevic (183-1987) with 12 points and Gedna Capel (185-2002) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jairis have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Alcobendas. Maresme lost tenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Jairis will meet Joventut (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Maresme will play against Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
