Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Carugate (8-9) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Torino (0-18) 72-59 on Sunday. Carugate forced 21 Torino turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Sara Canova (177-1989, agency: SLN) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (191-1998, college: Duquesne, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Center Clara Salvini (180-1992) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Agnese Bevolo (175-2002) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Torino in the defeat. Four Torino players scored in double figures. Torino's coach Mario Corrado rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Carugate moved-up to eighth place in A2. Newly promoted Torino still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Carugate will meet at home Bolzano BC (#12) in the next round. Torino will play against the league's second-placed Udine having rather not much hope for a victory.
