Very predictable result in Katowice where third ranked Mickiewicz (20-5) outscored 13th ranked Gliwice 2 (6-18) 105-61 on Sunday. Mickiewicz dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Gliwice 2's 30. Mickiewicz forced 21 Gliwice 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Mickiewicz especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Gliwice 2's players. Forward Krzysztof Kempa (200-2004) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Lukasz Klaczek (203-2000) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Four Mickiewicz players scored in double figures. Power forward Mikolaj Adamczak (204-2002) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Lukasz Laski (189-2005) scored 18 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mickiewicz have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group C with 20-5 record having three points less than leader Polonia W-wa. Loser Gliwice 2 keeps the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Mickiewicz will meet Cracovia (#7) in the next round. Gliwice 2 will play against Wisla Krakow (#9) and hope to secure a win.
